Willett Distillery

The Willett distillery was built shortly after the repeal of Prohibition by brothers Thompson and Johnny Willett. The distillery was managed by the family for over thirty years, producing brands such as Old Bardstown (now produced by Heaven Hill) and Johnny Drum. During the gasoline crisis in 1970's they converted the distillery to produce alcohol for gasohol fuel and stopped making Bourbon entirely.
In the late eighties, Even Kulsveen married Martha Willett (Thompson Willett's daughter) and vowed to bring the family distillery back to life. He began by bottling the remaining Willett stock and started exporting to Europe and Japan. Eventually the original stock ran out and Even has now shown his mastery for selecting and blending small batch bourbons into a distinctive and unique styles.
