After the government-owned distillery Tekel has been sold to the industry giant "Mey" they decided that Ankara wasn't profitable enough for their portfolio. They didn't invest anything to compete with the cheap brands invaded the local market after 90's and let the Ankara brand to die. It is a 5 years old single malt whisky
