Preludium:04 - Elegance Stored in a Mine is the fourth issue in our Mackmyra Preludium range, and is a tribute to our own whisky cellar - Bodås mine – where we store this liquid gold.

 

Elegant wisp of smoke and Champagne

Just as in our earlier bottlings in the Preludium range, the base of the Preludium:04 is our Elegant recipe stored in old bourbon casks of first-fill quality. The base was then flavoured with a few other variants: old champagne casks, which add the fresh tone, casks made of Swedish oak, which contribute a hint of herbs, and old sherry casks, which add flavours of grapes and chocolate. We have also taken a few casks from the pilot distillery with a so-called wisp of smoke. This is our elegant recipe that was distilled immediately after smoke distillation, which is how it gained its light, smoky flavour.

Preludium:04 sold out in only a few hours when it was released in Systembolaget’s stores on 2 May 2007.
