A VARIOUS RANGE OF WHISKIES
Whiskey is a spirit produced from grains and aged in oak casks.
Malt whiskies are produced entirely from malted barley (The Glenlivet, Aberlour, Scapa…).
Single malts are made by blending several malt whiskies produced in the same distillery. Pure malts are made by mixing several malts from more than one distillery.
Grain whiskies are produced from wheat or corn. Light in flavour, they are used primarily in blends.
Blended whiskies are made by mixing several single malt whiskies and grain whiskies.
Note: Irish whiskey differs from Scotch whiskey mainly by its triple distillation in traditional stills and the selection of barley (raw or malted).
